Military Green
The problems you've had with your Light Parkas in the past.
1
The cut’s too baggy

The materials aren’t breathable
3
Not water-repellent enough

The finishing touches are MIA
Punching above its weight
The long (and short) of it
If it goes below mid-thigh, it’s a coat. Above the seat, it’s a jacket. Our Lightweight Parka sits plum in the middle, honouring its tried and tested design, resting right below the seat of your pants. Our cyclist friends out there presumably agree it’s an ideal length.
A fresh cut
We allowed ourselves to tailor this garment a tad, making it a little more up to date, giving those military-inspired features a more modern drape. You’ll still be able to fit a jacket or jumper under there if needed.
No venting on the Ventile
The trick was to keep the Parka light while also making sure it could handle nature’s wrath. Luckily for us, Ventile’s been doing that for 70 years. It’s the original hi-tech cotton fabric, and one with a strict door policy: Air in for breathability, rain out to keep you dry.
Dense, yet smart
To make the Ventile so efficient, we select cotton with long fibres to make durable threads. They then get tightly woven into a very dense fabric which traps humidity, swelling to become even more water-repellent. Smart right? And, all the while it lets in enough air to keep your parka airy. A cotton whizz-kid.
No going under
As our Smart Raincoat and Windbreaker can attest, the Ventile L19 we used here lives to take on light rain downpours. The Ventile will also keep you dry for several minutes in a heavy downpour. We know what you’re thinking: water-repellent doesn't mean waterproof, so if you take a dip in the pool don’t expect to come out dry. To ensure you can withstand most of what the weather throws at you we fitted the Lightweight Parka with a nicely sized fitted hood with a drawstring and pockets secured with flaps.
Get wind of it
Rain isn’t all the Lightweight Parka shrugs off. The Ventile also has windbreaker properties, keeping those unwelcome draughts out at the bus stop. And, to be safe, we added a tall, button-up collar - consider your neck protected.
Zip and lock
We also doubled up in the closing department with a reliable zipper paired up with a front button tab. On the navy and black version, the buttons are made of corozo (vegetable ivory made from palm grains). The buttons are bio-based on the stone and military green versions. Top-notch buttons as standard.
Irresistible
While a dog may be Man’s best friend, your Lightweight Parka will come in a close second. Actually, now we think about it’ll probably come in first when it’s raining cats and dogs. Keep dry in style.
