After soaking up the sun, sea salt and a bit of rosé, it's natural to want to give your sweatshirt a freshen up. But be warned, this Lightweight Sweatshirt can be a little sensitive. Here are a few instructions on how to look after the one that's been looking after you all summer.
Washing the Light Sweatshirt
Nothing new under the sun, simply place it inside out in the washing machine and run it through a 30°C cotton programme topped off by a 600-800 rpm max spin.
Obviously, it's best to wash similar colours together to prevent the darker ones from bleeding onto the lighter ones, but you know that. If you've got a washing net handy, that's the best thing you can do.
When it comes to the detergent, we always recommend liquid, organic ones as powder can leave marks on dark colours. In fact, you can even make your own at home using one of the 200 billion recipes available online. It's more economical, more ecological and you'll finally be able to get the smell you really want.
Hang it to dry
Don't use a tumble dryer. If you're short of space, you can hang it upside down on a drying rack, but the best way is to lay it horizontally, possibly on a terry towel to soak up the excess water. We'd advise you not to wring it out, as you might damage its sensitive fibres.
Ironing your Light Sweatshirt
Ironing enthusiasts, rest assured, it's perfectly possible to give your sweatshirt a few presses. Just make sure you set yours on the cotton programme, with a temperature of 110°c max, and place a fabric between the plate and your precious fabric. There's no better way to avoid burns or nasty lime scale marks.
FYI, OUR LIGHT SWEATSHIRT AND THE PLANET
Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Light Sweatshirt:
- It’s 100% recyclable after being dismantled, which means that the day its services are no longer required, every component can be fully recycled. If you stop wearing yours for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing it on to a friend, family member or donating it to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation, and only recycling it when there really is no life or use left in it.
- No microplastics are released during washing. Unlike many garments, our 100 % organic cotton Light Sweatshirts have been designed not to release any microplastics. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that are released when worn or washed and have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
- They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
- They do not contain any recycled materials. We try to incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Light Sweatshirts.
Thanks!
