Some tips to make your Ultimate Straight Cut Jeans last.
December 23, 2020
We’re pretty serious about making long lasting clothes and a big part of that is taking care of them properly. So we’ve prepared a care guide for your Ultimate Jeans, to keep them looking their best and last the extra mile.
And when it comes to jeans, that gets you a long way !
Remember: the Raw Jeans feel tighter than washed jeans - that’s totally normal. The fabric hasn’t been treated so hasn’t been softened to start with. Wear it for a few days and it'll start loosening up and taking on your shape. For most people there’s no need to go up a size even if they feel a bit tight when you first pull them on. They just need breaking in.
Here’s a few things to look out for:
When it comes to Raw denim, our best advice is to wash them as little as possible. This will help your jeans keep their fit and their colour for as long as possible. Remember that raw denim is untreated, unlike other denims, so reacts very differently to washing.
To get the most out of your jeans we recommend wearing them maximum every other day and airing them out properly when you're not wearing them. Some purists also swear by leaving them in the freezer to freshen them up and kill off any bacteria. Why not.
If you do wash them, turn your jeans inside out and soak them in cold water (don't add anything else). Machine spin at a maximum of 400 rpm and leave them to dry flat on a rack.
For the other denims - rinse, stone and white - you can wash as normal, just turn them inside out before doing so. Set your machine to a gentle cycle and a maximum of 20°C (whatever you do, do not select the jeans cycle) with a small drop of laundry detergent. Machine spin at a maximum of 400 rpm and leave them to dry flat on a rack.
For the White Jeans make sure you only wash them with other white clothes.
Final tip, if you do want to wear your jeans everyday, it might be worth getting a second pair so you can alternate. We believe that buying less is the way forward, but in this case having another pair will make them both last a lot longer.
Now you know everything there is to know! We hope that you'll be pleased with your new clothes. We'll get back in touch in a few weeks’ time to see how it’s going.
