Care Guide for the Army Shirt

Your Army Shirt is ready to take on any terrain, but even tough things need a little TLC.

Washing it

Wash at 30°c on a regular cycle, turning it inside out to protect the fabric. If you're as meticulous as we are, a washing net will protect your shirt from the drum or any zips and the like being tossed about in there.

Watch out, however, no bleaching agents. These hostile products will only compromise the longevity of your shirt. That goes for all your other clothing, by the way.

Tactical drying

The tumble dryer is a no-go zone for your Army Shirt. A regular spin in the wash, followed by a short stint on a hanger, preferably outdoors, should do the trick. Set the spin speed to 800 rpm tops. There's no point in pushing it any further, you'll gain in lifespan what you'll lose in time.

Precision ironing

Let's face it, you barely have time for a wash and caffeinate in the morning, let alone get out the ironing board. But we can promise you one thing: one quick, well-executed blast on the iron at 150°c maximum, and your Army Shirt will look as sharp as ever.

FYI, OUR ARMY SHIRTS AND THE PLANET

Since 1 January 2024, the New French environmental legislation known as The AGEC Law stipulates transparency from our lot in the fashion industry so that you can make an informed purchase. As you can imagine, this is something that we fully support at Asphalte. So here's some additional information about our Army Shirts:

  • They’re 100% recyclable after being dismantled, which means that the day their services are no longer required every component can be fully recycled. If you stop wearing them for whatever reason, you might want to consider making someone else happy by passing them on to a friend, family member or donating them to a charity. The best way of reducing an item of clothing’s impact is by keeping it in circulation, and only recycling it when there really is no life or use left in it.
  • No microplastics are released during washing. Unlike many garments, our Army Shirts have been designed not to release any microplastics. Plastic microfibres are tiny particles of plastic that are released when worn or washed and have a negative impact on aquatic and land ecosystems.
  • They do not contain any hazardous materials. They’re manufactured in compliance with strict standards aimed at eliminating the use of harmful substances and other chemical nasties.
  • They do not contain any recycled materials. We try to incorporate recycled materials whenever we can, unfortunately, it hasn’t been possible to do so with the Army Shirt. The reason is that when you recycle a fibre, you shorten it. So if we can't find recycled fibres long enough that are sufficiently hard-wearing, we prefer to go for the slightly longer fibres.

Thanks!
