STRAIGHT OUTTA PORTUGAL

Our Zipped Hoodie is made from 100% organic cotton woven in Portugal. At 380g/m2, it’s a bit lighter than the cotton we use on our regular, zipless Hoodies, but it still has a hearty, substantial feel-meaning it works just as well as a top layer on mild days, or under a big jacket when the mercury drops.

ZIP-A-DEE-DOO-DAH

Like a flat tyre or a smashed phone screen, a broken zip can really put a downer on your day. To make sure our zip was up to the task, we opted for a trusty YKK number. These are basically the Toyota Hilux of the metal fastening world—they’re tough, they last for ages and they’ve got a chunky look to ‘em that demands respect.

A RIGHTEOUS HOOD

A good hood is the key to a great hoodie, so we lined ours to give an extra layer of support and help it keep its shape. Words like flimsy, flappy and floppy have no place here.

THE LONG AND SHORT OF IT

Vintage sweats from the ‘50s have a tendency to be a bit on the boxy side, so we dragged ours into the 21st century with a more flattering contemporary fit. Longer in the body, it’s got that classic sportswear feel, without making you look like a Duplo figure.

KANGAROOS KNOW BEST

That big kangaroo pocket on the front is scientifically formulated to keep those mitts warm on frosty mornings—and because we bar-tacked the pocket entries you can rest easy knowing it won’t rip open. Thanks Skippy.

DRAUGHT DODGING

We added chunky 1x1 elasticated ribbing to the sleeves and the hem of our Hoody so the heat stays in, and the cold stays out. Think of it like a wearable version of those fabric sausage things people used to wedge up against their front door in the old days—only a bit more visually appealing. Not all draught exclusion looks like a dead eel.

LESS IS MORE

Yep, we could have plastered a few embroidered numbers on the back or maybe written ‘COLLEGE’ in big letters down the front, but for sportswear such as this, less is definitely more. Like an expertly-crafted club sandwich—if you get the ingredients just right, no gimmicks are needed.

PORTUGUESE MEN OF WEAR

Our Zip Hoodie was woven, dyed and constructed by Eigui in Portugal. You’ve probably heard us talk about this lot before, as they’re the fine folk responsible for our regular Hoody and our T-Shirt. Anyway, when it comes to jersey gear, they’re hard to beat.

A TRUE WARDROBE WORKHORSE

We won’t patronise you by saying what you can wear this with—it’ll basically go with everything. Layer it under a bomber jacket… throw it over a work-shirt… sprinkle it on your chips… the choice is yours.
