Bless those cotton socks

A good reason to keep your socks on

4,000 of you took part in our sock questionnaire, that’s a lot of input. Here are the problems you've had with your socks in the past.

1

The fabric didn’t, well, blow your socks off

2

They stretched and lost their shape

3

Holes appeared in no time flat

4

The heel wore thin in a flash

We’ve been working our socks off

A sock-sess story

We've worked with you from A to Z, to create these socks and correct all the faults you had told us about. They're beautiful, they're comfortable, they're hard-wearing, they're made in Europe and they're just waiting for you to make your feet happy.

The right fabric first

You don’t make superlative socks with shoddy materials. So we did our thing: got into some serious material research. A few months later, we landed on the perfect sock combo: 75% organic cotton, 23% polyamide and 2% elastane. That’s a lot of top-quality cotton in the mix. In fact, it’s almost twice the amount big brands offer. It all adds up to great stats for comfortable, hardwearing, breathable socks.

Stand up guys

We’ve all had a pair of socks that like to do a runner… Creeping down your leg as you walk, slowly settling around your ankle. It’s a no from us. We added an elasticated band to the ribbing on these, it’s sturdy stuff that won’t be losing its grip any time soon. These’ll stay put at calf level without cutting off the blood supply to your feet. A bonus, we reckon.

No hole-in-one here

Open-toe or heel-free socks have never been a good look. We didn’t want you to end up being the face of an involuntary new trend, so we reinforced the heel and the tips of our socks with a cotton/polyamide knit that passed our rub test with flying colours. Hardy stuff, that won’t look like Swiss cheese after a few outings.

Neat Finish

The top part of the Perfect Sock is finished with tubular hemming. That’s a technical way of saying we folded the sock onto itself to keep a neat, clean finish that also happens to make it more resistant to the many tugs and pulls it will no doubt be facing over its extensive lifetime.

Everyone’s getting socked in

We don’t like to leave anyone out, we’re nice like that. So we’ve got two sizes and five colours - ranging from the sober classics to the more extraverted members of the sock line-up. We didn’t venture into novelty territory, mind you, no ‘Christmas present from your aunt’ stuff here. Just a tasteful sky blue and a pale yellow.

European sock making

These are 100% made in Europe. In Portugal, to be precise. We enlisted the jersey wizards at Fiorima whose cotton expertise goes a long way, meaning your Perfect Socks will too.

Tested and approved…

We’re happy to say that the Perfect Socks have clocked an impressive 8.6/10 score for style, 8.7 for the cut and 8.9 for comfort. Fine - it’s not literally perfect - but it’s pretty damn good. Now you can be dressed to the nines in Asphalte from head to toe.

A lifetime in… Asphalte socks

Tested, tugged, toed - we put these through their paces in the testing department, and now they’ve been given the toe-wiggle of approval by you. Your input and feedback got us there so give yourselves a pat on the back, or a soft cottony rub on the ankle - whatever feels right. European-made, top-quality footwear, at a fair price.
