The New Set is made up of a jacket and trousers cut from the same cloth. And just like some of our favourite duos, they can also have great solo careers. Mix and match, wear together, wear apart — it all goes. But today, let’s zoom in on the top half: The New Jacket.
A seasoned fabric
To give the New Jacket maximum character, we chose a twill that goes right back to its workwear roots. But we didn’t want to make just another work jacket. So, we went off script. First, we picked a breezy 265g/m² weight — light enough to wear mid-season and beyond. Then, we swapped basic twill for a subtle herringbone. The result? A Jacket with added depth, style, and a lot more soul.
A Clean Cut
We tWhen it comes to fit, we kept things straightforward. Nothing stiff, nothing stuffy, the New Jacket’s cut for ease and movement. Think clean lines, precise proportions, and a fit that’s relaxed but sharp. Built for breezing through seasons without missing a beat.
Cotton on
The fabric? A soft and breathable 100% cotton herringbone. But not just any cotton — we’re talking organic. That means less water, no nasties, and a healthier planet (and wardrobe). It’s better for the earth, the people who make it, gentler on your skin, and built to last longer. Win-win-win-win.
Stand-out collar
At first glance, it looks like a classic workwear collar. But look again. After weeks of tinkering, our product team came up with a fresh hybrid: part Cuban collar, part notched lapel. The neckline rises gently over the collarbone, then dips neatly into the shoulder seam. It’s a detail that adds a dose of charm, especially when you leave the top button undone. Highly recommended.
Pocket trifecta
You’ve got your two big front patch pockets, of course. But the best part? There’s a third one hidden inside — roomy (16x16 cm) with a solid metal zipper for safekeeping. It won’t hold your toolbox, but it’ll easily take your phone, wallet or passport. Practical, without the bulk.
From start to finish
Full of thoughtful details, The New Jacket is more refined than your average work jacket. There’re the 4 cm shirt-style cuffs, comfort pleats at the back, and buttons made from bio-resin, all sewn on by a trusty Ascolite machine. Reinforced around the usual stress points and meticulously finished, it’s built to last without showing off.
